Addiction Treatment

Addiction is one of the most serious issues that our society faces today. Addictions to drugs like opioids have skyrocketed over the last two decades. Alcohol, nicotine and prescription drug addictions still claim the lives of millions each year. If unaddressed, addictions can destroy your relationships, finances and job security.

Lake Howell Health Center is one of the best places to get the help you need to end your addiction.

SoberDoc Treatment Program

Dr. Kent S. Hoffman, a board-certified addiction specialist, has provided successful addiction treatment to patients for over 15 years. He is the founder of SoberDoc, a treatment program that combines outpatient therapy, medications and counseling to get patients off drugs for good. The SoberDoc program is six times more effective than the average inpatient rehab center – and much cheaper. Lake Howell Health Center offers same-day appointments for those seeking addiction treatment.

Treatment plans change to fit each person’s needs. Our staff will work to find the most effective treatment options for you. Treatment almost always consists of several different methods for best results.

Medical-assisted treatment is a proven part of long-term recovery from drug addiction. Medications are very effective for easing symptoms of drug withdrawal and cravings. They also save lives during overdoses or other health issues caused by drug addiction. Our staff is licensed to prescribe anti-addiction drugs like Suboxone when needed.

Counseling is also highly recommended due to its proven track record for long-term success. Working with licensed therapists and peers decreases the chance of a relapse. Kristen Umholtz, LMHC, is Lake Howell Health Center’s in-house addiction counselor. sHE helps patients work through their issues and instills helpful coping habits. Counseling may also be done through outside therapists or associations like Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.

Executive Recovery Service

Our Executive Recovery Service is available for people who require discretion during addiction treatment. This service is convenient for high-profile patients, as they are treated out of the watchful eyes of the public. This service includes a private entrance and waiting room when visiting our facility. The Executive Recovery Service allows patients to treat their addiction while keeping their reputation safe. Call 407-691-3960 for more information about this service.

Lake Howell Health Center’s SoberDoc program treats hundreds of addiction patients every year with proven success. Addiction can be conquered with SoberDoc. Find more information on this program at www.SoberDoc.com. You can also visit AddictionHelp.com, co-founded by Dr. Hoffman

Research

Research and clinical trials have been an important part of Lake Howell Health Center from the start. TRY Research, our on-site investigative division, is led by Dr. Hoffman. TRY Research studies treatments for prevalent diseases like addiction, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and diabetes.

These studies are conducted on-site by doctors and professionals. Many of these studies give participants opportunities for treatments that they otherwise couldn’t afford. TRY Research has conducted nearly 30 clinical trials to date. These studies have helped put better medicines in the hands of those who need it. Pharmaceutical companies put their trust in TRY Research to test the effectiveness of new drugs or treatments.

By investigating different medications, the Lake Howell Health Center staff can find more effective — and more affordable — ways to help its patients. If you would like to participate in a research study, contact Lake Howell Health Center at 407-691-3960.
